Oh Yeah Ryanair!

Having fought over a couple of kilos of extra baggage with one of the most awful women I´ve ever met at an airport check-in desk on the way to Sweden last week, I was a bit concerned when we loaded up with 50 kilos worth of books over and above our clothes and other belongings for the trip back, but thankfully we had a much gentler Swede check our bags on the return trip and didn´t have to get rid of a single book! Thanks - for once - to the Scandinavians´ neutrality and unwillingness to pick a fight, Hawkes library is one step closer to completion. With about another 100 kilos worth of books still in boxes back in Uppsala, the collection isn´t yet intact, but with another successful trip or two like this, we´ll be all set!

Christ Air Skatecamp Alingsås

This weekend I was in the south of Sweden at the 4th annual Christ Air skatecamp held just outside of Gothenburg. About 100 skaters showed and there was some amazing skating during the competition on Saturday, where I´d volunteered to judge, not realising how hard that was going to be! Not only was the skating good, but SafeMode, Zion Ant and a few local bands played good music and the evening meetings were great - focused around the theme "Our Faith - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow".
