Steelroots Uprising on the Horizon

One of the many ministries represented in the Toolshed at Soul Survivor this year was Steelroots; a group of people passionate about all things surf, skate and snow, as well as the music industry, tv and film, and not least their faith in God. I was privileged to hang out with some of the team over the course of the week and meet some of the pro skaters that are combining their skills on a board with their desire to communicate their convictions and produce high quality programs, dvds, tours and events where they showcase the best in skating and music, coupled with contemporary communication of the Christian message. One of the projects about to hit the screens is reality tv show THE UPRISING, which follows skateboarding legends Christian Hosoi and Jay Alabamy Haizlip , as well as Brian Sumner and others, as they live their lives, ride their boards and share their stories on the screen. After talking to Brian for just a couple of minutes you already had the feeling this thing is going to be the best production yet from the Steelroots crew, and with such a respected line-up and quality riders and film crew, I'm looking forward to the October release.
